Basketball Skills
Basketball Skills is an activity for up-and-coming basketball players and those not interested in playing the game of basketball. Special Olympics Basketball Skills offers individual skills competition, which allows athletes to train and compete in basic basketball skills. These events include target pass, ten-meter dribble and spot shot. A player's final score is determined by adding the scores together achieved in each of the events.
The season runs from January through March.
Note from Coach Dave:
WOW!
What a fantastic day we had with the Westerville South Girls Basketball teams on Saturday. We were really glad to see everybody that made it to the practice. We were able to get some of our scoring started and completed on some of our athletes. We have to turn in 2 sets of scores by January 22nd.
I want to say WELCOME to 3 new Skills players: Kali, Madison & Susan. We are so excited that you have joined our team.
Our next practice will be 7:00 pm Friday January 15th at Annehurst. We need everyone that wants to do skills to be there so we can get more scores completed because we do not have a practice site available for the 22nd before we have to turn scores in for the Dist 6 competition.
Watch for more information about an exciting event being planned for January 19th with the WSO Basketball team vs.Worthington at Westerville South.
Practice for basketball skills occurs every Friday night between 7-8 pm at Annehurst Elementary School (925 Main Street 43081).
